Sufi Dervish Zikr

I took these photos last Friday evening in Khartoum, Sudan. The Sufi Dervishes meet outside at sunset in a cemetery with a small weathered and ancient mosque. It was an exhilarating experience. The fast rhythmic drumming, chanting and dancing is hypnotic and trance inducing with a powerful sense of joy.
